UTV TAKEOVER 2022 SAND HOLLOW | CHUPACABRA OFFROAD

Man, we've been on the road lately! Sand Show to Trail Hero and back to Utah again for UTV Takeover, our first time at this event. I did lose some of my in car footage from the Maze trail, more on that later... But this is our highlight reel, as we were busy selling product all weekend. Great to see many of you, and thanks for all the support!

(0:13) Thank you. What's up, everybody? Nick Olson, Chupacabra Off-Road here at the UTV takeover. Been working hard selling some stuff. Thanks, everybody, who's been coming by supporting us. I'm heading up here to the vendor area. Oh, real quick, gotta show you guys. Got some new tires on the X3, the big dogs, the stickies. These are Maxis Rockzilla 35s looking good on some method 401 bead locks. But I'm gonna go see if I can sign up right now and go on a real trail ride, some rock crawling on the maze. Royce, the guys at Off-Camber said they're hosting that, so good for me to go on a ride with those guys that can help babysit me. Last time I was up here, I didn't really have a whole lot of confidence on the rocks, so I want to try out those tires. Ended up getting another key made as well, which is going to hopefully make the power a little more manageable. So let's walk in here and see if I can find out where to sign up for this ride, if I even still can, and gonna ride with these guys tomorrow.

(2:57) It's Saturday morning out here at UTV takeover with the boys Eric and Royce. We're leading a ride on all of us. We got 25 or 30 cats. You guys are hurting today. Which ride are we going on? [Music] I've never done an A-rated trail. I make it through this. I got the low speed key. We'll see how it goes. But there you go. There's some other Can-Ams, so I'm gonna follow. I'm gonna jump in behind one of these guys and check out their lines and see what they do. Perfect. Listen to you guys. So we're on this, one of your favorite trails. You guys ride this one a lot. It's got a lot of big steep vertical climbs. The vertical climb king, so this is his trail. Yeah, it's a fun one though. If you ever come out here, hit up the maze. It's a good time. I was trying to learn. These guys took some of my team for a ride on Trail Hero and I was watching some footage. I was editing the video and I was watching. I got one of you going up and you were getting your tires warm and I tell you even just watching just give it a little bump and remember like yeah I'm excited to learn with these guys. We'll report later.

(4:34) You're good. Feels bad. Thank you. How's the trail going so far? You said this your first time on this trail? Yeah, first time out. What's the obstacle? What's this obstacle? Yeah, you gotta be nuts and then you gotta be totally nuts. Oh yeah, I've seen these on the internet. Yeah, it definitely doesn't make it do justice on YouTube. You guys do a fair bit of crawling back in New Mexico. Yeah, we're home of the We Rock Grand National Championship, so tons of rock buggy stuff. We have pretty much similar terrain like this and stuff. You know, it's a lot not a lot of marked trails yet, but they're Canyon Off-Road Association has formed and they're working their way and working with the Cliffhanger guys to adapt and map everything out and try to get some signage and stuff going and that way everybody from out of town can come out and just learn the trails and see where they're going. Because out in Farmington it's all BLM land so it's not like here where it's just kind of an open range free-for-all. There's a lot of stuff that is sacred land and stuff so it's right on the Navajo reservation. So there are a lot of UTV guys that just love getting down on the rocks and building rock builds or big tires and just crawl exclusively. Yeah, that's so that's pretty much what we do in Farmington is is about 95 rock crawling and stuff. I mean we have some dunes out there that are very similar to this, not as fine-grained you know. It's more of like a white sand type deal and so it's a little bit of everything. You know, there's always washes and stuff to drive up through to the rocks and things so pretty cool. I mean it's very residential where we're at. So right on, beautiful. All right, here we go. We got Nick from Farmington representing New Mexico. This guy's a Chupacabra dealer. That's how we met him about a year ago. We might have the prettiest car here. Look at that thing. Doesn't even have a scratch on it. Yeah, he gets down on the rocks, you could tell that's for sure. So far liking the Can-Am, the stickies are helping, of course the ground clearance and that low speed throttle key is nice. It's far more calming than the last time I drove it. So with those small changes, I don't think I'm going to be hitting this hill but I'm feeling a lot better. This is an A-rated trail so somehow we did. So far feeling much better, much more confident.

(7:25) 4C Cali making it look easy. I like that little bed rack in the back of that thing. Climb that hill you guys saw earlier called Can't Dam Hill. I don't know if a Can-Am's actually cleared that one and I'm not going to be the one to try to change that.

(8:00) Look at those stickies man just gripping. It's so cool.

(8:22) All right, here comes Ryan. [Applause]

(8:33) Well Dad, what do you think? Guys look smooth, huh? Incredible. The four-seaters. It even looks so much steeper from right here.
