Can-Am has revealed its lineup of side-by-sides and ATVs for 2020 and the changes to the Maverick X3 bring big power and some value.
The most exciting of the changes arrives in the form of more power for the already exciting Maverick X3, with the new Maverick X3 RR model packing 195 horsepower and 135 lb-ft of torque. That’s a boost of 23 horsepower and 11 lb-ft of torque compared to the now middle of the road Maverick Turbo R model, which makes 172 hp.
The engine is still a 900cc liquid-cooled turbocharged triple, but in the RR package is uses a bigger turbo and intercooler along with a less restrictive airbox and new pistons to crank out the extra power.
As a reminder, there are now three different engine flavors for the Maverick X3. Base models arrive with 120 horsepower, Turbo R models are pumped up to 172 horsepower, while the new RR models make 195.
Plenty of other changes arrive for the Maverick lineup as well. All 72-inch wide models get revised suspension, increasing ground clearance by one inch up to a whopping 16 inches total. All X rs models, meant for tackling rocks and trails, wear wider tires, with 9-inch rubber in the front and 11-inch wide tires in the rear.
New style wheels and tires also arrived on the Maverick X3 X rc Turbo RR and Maverick X3 X rs Turbo RR for a different look, while the X rc Turbo RR gets 32-inch Maxxis Liberty tires.
The digital display has been revamped across the lineup as well. Base models get a 4.5-inch multifunction display while any X3 with the X-package gets a larger 7.6-inch digital display fit with a new keypad making it easier to manipulate.
There are new models altogether in the Maverick lineup for 2020, including the new Maverick X3 RS Turbo R, built to conquer the sand thanks to its big width. The other new machine is a four-seater built for the mud and paired with the new RR powerplant: the Maverick X3 MAX X mr Turbo RR.
Most of the gear you get for the money hasn’t changed, so that RR model comes with FOX 2.5 Podium RC2 shocks and the Smart-Lok front locker.
